Cindy
How can I find out more about starting my own dog spa??
Each week Cindy answers many requests for information from people from all over the world who want to start their own dog spa/canine hydrotherapy program. After years of planning and thought as to how to best facilitate learning in this profound and complex subject , Cindy has created a two-part training program that she calls “The Heart of Canine Aquatic Therapy.” Always sold out with a waiting list, Cindy has offered this popular series for several years now and has helped over 100 students get started through out the world.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others “
— Ghandi
Cindy Horsfall, Licensed Massage Practitioner, Licensed Small Animal Therapist and Certified Aquatic Therapist – has a rich background in the healing arts and a profound passion for Aquatic Bodywork. Cindy has over 14,000 hours in the water working with our canine friends and is fully committed to sharing all that she has learned. With a gentle, compassionate presence and an innate, intuitive ability to communicate from the heart, Cindy offers enthusiastic support, insight and a wealth of personal experience to anyone wishing to learn more about this work in the water and about themselves.
” Feel yourself being quietly drawn by the deeper pull of what you truly love.”
— Rumi
The Heart of Canine Aquatic Therapy
The Level 1 class is designed to expose students to the broader scope of this profession, the depth of the work and to the healing and profound powers of water therapy. Graduates of this class often feel prepared to begin their business or begin providing services and some feel they want to come back for more.
The Level 2 class is designed to go deeper into this fascinating field of health care. Experiencing more difficult and challenging clients, each student gets an opportunity to perform their own private sessions from start to finish and explore each step in detail. Level 2 usually increases confidence in this work.
After graduation you’ll be invited to join the exclusive “La Paw Spa Graduates” forum where you can continue to interact with and learn from other La Paw Spa graduates.

Please Note …
For all those opening a pool, you may think its a physical therapy tool with tennis balls and jets and wet dogs, but besides all of that, besides all of the laughter and splashing – there will be tears. You are dealing with people’s most vulnerable part – their open heart and their unconditional love and fear for their companion who is hurt or aging. Your pool will become a sanctuary – allow yourself to open to this reality and create the arena for true healing at all levels.
One of my most favorite essays on how to serve others can be read here.
One of Cindy’s students, Carrie Smith, who owns Pawsitively Pooched, discusses owning a pool.
